  • The Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority announced on Thursday, 10 October 2024 their decision to cancel the supply and use of agricultural products containing chlorthal dimethyl across Australia, effective immediately.

Chlorthal dimethyl is widely used in the strawberry, vegetable, and cotton industries at the time of planting or seeding to prevent weeds, and also in turf to control lawn weeds.

Growers affected by the APVMA decision are to immediately cease use of the cancelled products. Growers are encouraged to follow the APVMA’s guidelines on the cancellation and any possible recall process.

More information including cancelled products can be found on the APVMA website here.
